the ABCs of me

I got this idea from Sydnee.
It seemed like the perfect way to start the summer. (Sydnee, I really hope you don't mind. If you do, please let me know.)

The first post comes later today. I need to think of some good ones...

the cutest six months ever

Almost six months old! How can that be?

January seems like a stone's throw back in time from today.

MERELY A STONE'S THROW.

How can July already be upon us?

Please feel free to enlighten me on that point.

a case of patriotics

I am American.
I am pleased to be.
I live in a little green suburb,
where people play baseball in the field across the street.
My backyard is a mountain's majesty,
and we have a flag in the front of our house.
I've been learning about George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams,
and Abraham Lincoln
for as long as I can remember.
I appreciate diversity,
and hope to speak more than English one day.
I want to travel,
but I'll still be from America.
I am grateful for the men who defend my country today,
and for those who defended its earliest freedoms.
September 11th will live forever in my memory.
Ground Zero stirs deep emotions in my heart.
I've visited the Statue of Liberty, Mt. Rushmore, and Washington D.C.
I am in love with those places.
Countless cross-country roadtrips with my family have only strengthened my love of this nation.
I enjoy the West Coast, and the East Coast.
I love the lakes of my home state.
I am American.
I am pleased to be.

day 4 {heavy metal}

Creativity boot camp?
Lovely.
I'm thoroughly enjoying myself.

And today was fantastic. Spendin' time with a few of my friends...laying in the grass, taking pictures of whatever struck my fancy, pretending to be cool, secondhand shops, $2.00 shirts, swimming, snocones...the second week of summer is proving to be just as good as the first.

Monday, June 7, 2010

and so, the first week of summer ends with my 100th post.

Highly successful, I must say.

Monday: too far away to recall.

Tuesday: on the town, listening to great tunes, and making friendships stronger.

Wednesday, and Thursday: business plans with Blythe, and the start of a [potentially] rich-making summer. Also, randomly showing up on friend's doorsteps and watching funny YouTube videos.

Friday: stalking strangers with fabulous people, getting calls from delicious concert-goers, and balloon-splatter painting ventures.

Saturday: Doritos and lemonade in the cemetary with the best friend, and partying it up birthday-style.

Sunday: incredible yellow sky, post-apocolyptic driving, musical chats, Shakespeare memories, journal writing, and a good book.

New music, too. A lot.

And new perspective.

Highly successful indeed.

summer is finally here, and the school year...

...is over.

Time for
swimming,
the beach,
and sno-cones...
all day long.

and this what I love

Having picnics at my neighborhood park with best friends.

Falling asleep in the grass, lounging in the sun on a giant quilt.

Driving around with my best friend/brother and taking crazy pictures.

Watching fun TV shows with the girls.

Making the right decision.

Talking and chatting until really late and then racing home to beat curfew.

Sleeping in until 10:30.

Looking out the window at the perfect weather.

Summer is lovely.
